How do fiber converters work?

In essence, fiber converters’ task is to change electrical signals into light pulses. Fiber converters work on the physical part of the fiber-optic network. They receive data signals from one media, like an electronic signal from a wire, and change them into light beams onto a fiber optic cable, at the same time being able to remain undetectable to other networking devices connected to the same network. Fiber converters are as easy to install as patch cables and connectors. They do not hinder high-level protocol information.

The best way to connect Ethernet with fiber

Fiber media converters were introduced to the industry quite early, in the 1990s, and even now play a major role in connecting fiber optic cable systems with existing copper-based cabling infrastructure. Fiber media converters are able to sustain a big variety of data communication protocols including Ethernet, Fast Ethernet Gigabit Ethernet, and different cable types like coaxial, twisted pair, both multi and single-mode fiber making them very versatile devices which quickly became the industry standard in connecting Ethernet with fiber.
