The UFiber NanoG, identified by its model number UF-Nano, is a high-caliber Optical Network Unit (ONU) crafted by Ubiquiti for advanced fiber optic connectivity within Gigabit Passive Optical Networks (GPON). This device is specifically designed to provide robust and reliable high-speed internet and data services to both residential and commercial environments.
Encased in a UV-stabilized polycarbonate shell (PC110U), the UF-Nano ensures durability against environmental factors while maintaining a sleek, compact design that measures unobtrusively in any setting. This strong, lightweight enclosure is designed to withstand various environmental conditions without compromising device integrity.
On the technical front, the UF-Nano is equipped with one SC/APC ITU-G.984 compliant GPON WAN port and one Gigabit Ethernet RJ45 LAN port, facilitating high-speed data transfers with a total non-blocking line rate of 2.488 Gbps downstream and 1.244 Gbps upstream. This configuration allows for efficient distribution of high-bandwidth data across networked devices, making it ideal for applications that demand substantial data throughput.
LED indicators provide visual feedback on the device's status with distinct colors and behaviors: a steady white for power, blinking white for activity, red for no optical receive power or loss of signal, and off for a link down status. These indicators help users quickly diagnose and manage the operational state of the device.
Powering the UF-Nano is versatile, with support for 24V Passive PoE (Pins 4, 5+; 7, 8-), drawing a current of 0.3A. The unit is typically powered by a UniFi PoE Switch, supporting a voltage range of 20–28V DC and consuming a maximum of 7W, emphasizing its energy efficiency.
The device features two crucial buttons: one for factory resets and another for accessing information. It operates optimally within a temperature range of -40 to 55° C (-40 to 158° F) and can handle ambient humidity from 5 to 95% non-condensing. It is certified by major standards including FCC, IC, and CE, ensuring compliance with international safety and operational regulations.
Designed for Integration
Up to 128 Nano G devices can be connected to a single GPON port. Supporting GPON links of up to 20 km, the Nano G integrates with the UFiber OLT, UFiber OLT 4 and third-party OLT devices. UFiber networks are intelligently managed using UNMS™ application, a comprehensive management controller. It features a graphical UI that is easy to learn and navigate. UNMS manages all the registered UFiber OLTs and their ONU clients and supports advanced functionalities such as device provisioning, account binding, and bandwidth allocation, which are critical for managing large-scale fiber networks.
